Biographical history

Edmund E. Simpson was born in San Francisco, California on February 2, 1912. He graduated from McGill Medical school in 1939 after an A.B. at the University of California at Berkeley. He moved to Sacramento and then Davis, California to practice. Founded Blackwood Press in 1956, located in Placerville, California, after buying a 6 x 10 hand press.

The fonds contains the research work of Dr. Simpson in preparation of his biography of Austin Flint.
