Series
The series consists of a range of materials documenting the Gold's poetic and literary output, primarily between 1968 and 1981. The files include chiefly handwritten and typewritten manuscripts and poetry drafts. Several volumes and leaves of paper contain finalized poems and drafts, with notable works such as Romantic Words and "Even Yr Photograph Looks Afraid of Me." The manuscripts also include significant collections like cityflowers and some of the cat poems. Some items are accompanied by correspondence relating to literary publication, such as letters from Bryan McCarthy, managing editor of Booster and Blaster, as well as proofs and articles related to the launch of the magazine. Other materials include drafts of an article submitted to Books in Canada on the Montreal poetry scene.
Arrangement mostly corresponds to Artie Gold's original organization into boxes.
