He has the International Medical Congress in London in August. He is the President of the medical side and knows that he will be in a condition of cerebral exhaustion after the congress. He wishes to be present at the centennial of the Medical School, so he suggests coming in April, which is more convenient for him. Suggests beginning his lectures on the third week, about the 20th. Comments on the case of a child who is better. Civilities.

Suggests he do at Yale what they have done at Jena, Heidelberg and other German Universities, for the medical school. Suggests putting the anatomy, physiology, pathology and pharmacology on a level with the physics and biology. States that it would be an immense stimulus to medical education throughout the country if Yale could organize a department of medicine and surgery on the modern scale. For that, he must have the control of a hospital. Civilities.
